Pisquick Tours

The tours section on the right clicks through to most of the Euro trips that I have photographs from. Pisquick Tours did many shorter UK trips both on two wheels and four but sadly either I don't have photographs or I don't remember them well enough to write anything (you know what they say about the sixties!). If your memory is better than mine please read the nexr bit:

I remember that ...

If any of this seems familiar, if you went on any of the trips and remember any of this yourself or even if you think what I've written is a complete travesty (as one or two people might) and want to correct it / add to it / sue, please get in touch. Everybody has their own memories and your may not coincide with mine. Of all the people who appear in these pages I'm only in touch with two and have a vague idea of what's happened to a few others. You can't look through these images without wondering what has happened to everybody in the years (or decades) since our paths crossed. If you recognise yourself or know someone from any the trips (even if it's your mum or dad!) click the email button and say hello.

Welcome to the Pisquick Tours website

Think back to the late 60's. If you were a teenager then it seemed like a new world. The war had ended twenty years earlier but I wasn't old enough to remember any of that. You could see bits and pieces left over from those days - bomb site carparks, old concrete pill boxes slowly filling up with mud, handlebar moustaches, an Empire mentality etc but for me (and many others!) the modern world started between the Lady Chatterley ban and the Beatles first LP.

One thing that had definately changed was the availability of transport and the choice of places to go. Cheap flight with EasyJet etc were decades in the future but cheap drive on - drive off cross channel ferries made Euro touring possible for the financially challenged (me) - especially if you teamed up with others to keep the costs down. Pisquick Tours came from this - work out how much it would cost to go to whatever destination you had in mind and convince as many people as possible to share your vision. Not quite commerce, more viral marketing! Originally based around van tours it quickly spread onto two wheels. A two stroke haze was soon settling across much of Europe...
